Sziget Festival: What is it? Is it worth it?
Sziget Main Stage - As you can see, I am not the greatest photographer.
If you come across this article and will be attending Sziget in 2024, feel free to follow me on Instagram or reach out to me via the contact page if you would like to meet. I’ll be attending the festival from August 10th to 12th.
What is it?
Sziget Festival, often called the “Island of Freedom,” is one of Europe's largest music and cultural festivals. It takes place every August in Budapest, Hungary, on the Obuda island on the Danube River.
The music portion of the festival is its biggest attraction, but there are many other things that take place at the festival. While exploring the festival, you will find art exhibitions, workshops, circus shows, boat parties, art installations, etc..
With the attendance ranging from 420,000 - 565,000 in recent years, you’re bound to meet some great people and make some great memories.

Is it worth it?
With the full 6-day ticket pass costing nearly $400, you want to make sure your money is well spent.
From my personal experience, the festival is a great value for the money and is worth attending. Whether you opt for a full festival pass, 3-day or 1-day pass, you'll be treated to a diverse lineup of artists catering to a wide range of musical tastes.
The headliners are some of the biggest names in the industries but do not sleep on the smaller names. Throughout the island, you will find all types of artists performing in the many venues, which are included with your ticket.
